The Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) is in force since the year 1978. 152 countries currently participate in it. Bulgaria is a member of the Treaty since 21st May 1984. This Treaty gives the possibility, by filing one international patent application, to seek protection in all PCT member states. Applicants with a permanent address and main office in a PCT member state possess the right to file such an application.
